How to Claim HRDF for Our Workshops

Step 1: Register for a Claimable Workshop

Choose and register for a HRDF Claimable workshop course at Digital Growth Academy.

*Note: HRDF claims applied to workshop only, seminar/webinar excluded.

Step 2: We Prepare the Required Documentation

After registration, our team will reach out to collect your company details and provide the necessary documents for your HRDC claim, which include:

• Course Outline
• Trainer Profile
• Official Quotation
• Certificate of Trainer's Accreditation (where applicable)

Step 3: Apply for Grant Approval (If Required)

For most HRDF claimable programs, employers must first obtain grant approval before submitting claims.

As stated in the HRDF Claims User Guide hrdf claim official source, employers must submit claims under approved grants via the “Submit Claims with Grant” function inside eTRiS.

if your company has not yet applied for a grant, make sure to identify the correct scheme before submitting the grant application details and align the approved amount and training fees.

Step 4: Submit Claim via eTRiS Portal

After training completion, your HR department will submit claim to HRD Corp via the eTRiS portal.

As reflected in the official process flow, claims are only valid once:
• Training has been completed
• Attendance records are accurate
• All supporting documents are uploaded
• Submission is within the allowed timeframe (within 6 months after training completion)

What is the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF)?

HRDF is a statutory initiative established under the Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) Act 2001. Its objective is to encourage employers to invest in workforce development by contributing a monthly levy, which can later be claimed back for approved training programmes.

HRDF enables employers to:
• Offset training costs legally
• Strengthen workforce competitiveness
• Support digital and leadership transformation

HRDF is not a tax. It is a workforce development investment mechanism.

What is HRDF Claimable?

HRDF claimable refers to training expenses that registered employers can claim after completing approved programmes. Both physical and remote online training may qualify if compliant with HRD Corp guidelines.

• Meal allowances
• Accommodation and transport
• Consumable materials
• Licensed training materials

Who is Eligible for HRDF?

HRDF registration under Human Resource Development Corporation depends on your company size and structure.
Compulsory Registration:
Malaysian employers with 10 or more employees must register and contribute to the HRD levy.
Optional Registration:
Employers with 5 to 9 local employees may register voluntarily to access HRD Corp training grants and claimable programs.
Since 1 March 2021, HRDF covers all industries in Malaysia.

Exemptions generally include federal statutory bodies, state government bodies, and NGOs involved in social welfare activities.
